“Sources” are at it again!

This time, ESPN analysts  Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter are reporting that their sources tell them Peyton Manning has been medically cleared by two physicians to resume his NFL career.

According to Yahoo! Sports, “If this is true, it ends a year of uncertainty about Manning’s future after he lost the entire 2011 season to neck and nerve issues. One of the physicians, Dr. Robert Watkins, performed the most recent cervical fusion surgery on Manning’s neck. The other physician, Dr. Hank Feuer, the Colts neurosurgeon.”

Feuer even added that considering how well Peyton has rehabbed, if his son were in the same situation, he would tell him to play.

That’s great news. What does this mean for Peyton though? Does he get that $28 million bonus and come back next season and possibly work alongside Andrew Luck or… does he go off to some other team. By the way, Andy is good getting drafted first by the Colts with or without Peyton. Just so you know!

Also of note, Andy’s neck beard is gone ladies!

Colts Owner Jim Irsay said that what ever the decision the Colts make regarding Peyton, it “isn’t about money.”

Well that’s nice.. Not really. Lots of folks say they aren’t about the money!

And we still have a little over a month before the March 8 decision date of whether or not to give Peyton his pay day.

In Non-Manning news!

* Cam Newton believes the Carolina Panthers will be a playoff contender next season.

* The NFL is going to help the San Francisco 49ers build a new stadium in Santa Clara. Guess the league doesn’t want the lights going off at Candlestick during Monday Night Football again, huh!

* Osi Umenyiora didn’t realize the mandatory media session from Wednesday was actually mandatory and instead chose to hang out with the family. He didn’t think he would be asked anything different from the Monday and Tuesday media sessions and skipped out, not realizing EVERY media session during Super Bowl week is mandatory. Mmmk!

* NFL Network analyst Brian Billick announced his top 12 NFL quarterbacks. What do you think about this list?
