So here is what we know about Peyton Manning after the last 24-hours.

All those reports of him retiring and what not, they seem to be not relevant. At all. From the interview with ESPN on Tuesday, we learned Peyton is ready to go. He is rehabbing. Following doctors orders.

According to NFL.com:

“My plan hasn’t changed,” Manning said at a hotel after Media Day at Lucas Oil Stadium. “I’m on track with what the doctors have told me to do, and I’m doing
that. I’m rehabbing hard.”

When asked about reports he may soon retire, he said that talk is premature: “I have no plans on doing that.”

He noted that he will meet with Colts Owner Jim Irsay at the appropriate time to discuss his future and added that he and Jim have a great relationship and would continue to do so for the rest of their lives.

Also, Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has high hopes for Peyton. He said he hasn’t seen him throw recently but is well aware that at the end of the season he was throwing quite well, but was not up to Peyton’s high standards.  More on Adam’s interview here.

And, Peyton’s little brother, Eli … you know that guy that’s quarterbacking the Giants this weekend… he thinks his brother is going to do everything he can to play football for Indy next season and this is something he is really looking forward to himself. So, there is that Colts fan! Eli is on your side if you like Peyton, which I know you all do! Here’s more on Eli talking Peyton!
In non-Manning news:

* Kenny Britt pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in Hoboken, New Jersey today. Get this! He faced several charges in connection with a June arrest where police said they suspected Britt was carrying a “marijuana cigar.” Police claimed Britt crushed the cigar and disposed of it. It was not found. Hence, he plead guilty today to the lesser charge of  … disturbing the peace! He just has to pay a $1,500 fine. Here’s some more on this story!

* Osi Umenyiora, who I will refer to as Osi, has been hit with a $20,000 fine from the NFL for skipping out on a mandatory media session in which all other Giants and Patriots players were available to reporters. Osi wasn’t all bad Wednesday. He was prompt to a team meeting held shortly after the meeting with media. Maybe he’s shy? Either way, here is more on Osi!
